I have been working on this for awhile to make all the stuff click together, Made out of pure boredom. sorry, some of the Ideas are Lame :B

(most of the spaces through out the Journal are where Images belong in the Ref)

. Feel free to help with grammar or poor spelling X'D I'm going to make a BIG REF of this at some point.

Venge Mythology
The Oyrnox,(Completely made up name lol) Is a distant cousin to the mythical Old Shuck/Black Dog of Death. The Oyrnox are Vengeful animal spirits that refused to go to the after life.

It's said that if you are touched by one, it will leave a burn that will never heal, because their bodies are made of the flames of hell itself.

Appearance:

Normally black and white, with a swirl or zigzag pattern on its body. It often has large, glowing eyes with fog or steam coming from its mouth.

It is accompanied by a pair of floating flames or will o' the wisps, in eerie colors such as blue, green, or purple. These ghostly flames are separate parts of the ghost rather than independent spirits. They are believed to hold their Earthly form, since they do not appear to be around when they're in disguise. (they can still be seen with the flames if they don't use that much power on a disguise)

Living World Disguise (AKA Ash):

If they can master the art of pulling off a good Disguise, they can live life as they did when they were truly living, and they can even touch physical objects without them burning.

The Magic to pull off this illusion can only do so much, so odd colors are often see on the body of the illusion, normally their skin and bits of fur. The more odd colors that show up, the less power they are using.

Envy Butterfly and Venge's Origin:

Before the animal breathes their last breath, they use forbidden magic to trap themselves in the world of the living. This forbidden Magic places a curse upon them to wander the world of the living for all eternity.

But this Curse comes with a price. The same Deadly sin that keeps them from going to the afterlife, now has a physical form of its own.

The Sin is normally made of pure energy, and in a form that looks similar to a butterfly.

The butterfly can't be destroyed or even touched. It just floats around, feeding on your anguish, doing things to make the spirit feel worse.

If it feeds too much it starts to become a doppelganger, and tries to destroy the already weak spirit.

To keep the butterfly from causing harm, you have to starve it with your happiness, as it will only appear when the spirit is weak.
